Default Layer

Special Keys

The Q key also functions as Esc key. By default, or when tapped, the key will register Q but will register Esc when double tapped. 

Z and "." or period key also acts as Shift keys. They register as Z or period when tapped but will register Shift when held.

Layer change keys are Space, Backspace, "-", and Enter keys. These keys will register the default assignments when tapped but, when held, they will enable their respective layer assignments. For example, to access Layer 1 where the number rows are located, the Space key is pressed and held, then, Q is pressed to register "1". To output "!", Space is pressed and held then "." to access Shift key, then, press Q. Simple! hahaha There are simpler ways to access the shifted keys with less key strokes. I decided to stay with these for now.

Layer 1

This layer contains the number row and special characters. This layer is accessed when Space key is pressed and held .

Layer 2

Layer 2 contains the function and media layers. To access, press and hold Backspace key.

Layer 3

Arrows cluster can be accessed by pressing and holding the "-" key with the pinky finger. I've used this layout for a long time and got me away thru excel reports with a small keyboard.

Layer 4

BLE related functions on this layer. Mouse movements will be added as soon as implemented on ZMK.
